Spiritual Formation at the John Leland Center

For the last two decades, the John Leland Center for Theological Studies and its president, Dr. Mark Olson, have provided future ministry leaders with accredited graduate-level programs in theology. Under Dr. Mark Olson and his faculty, John Leland Center students can choose between multiple master’s degree programs, including the master of divinity.

The Center’s master of divinity degree has been designed for students who plan to dedicate their lives to the ministry in a complete and professional sense. The program, which can be completed in five to six years for part-time students or three to four years for full-time students, prepares individuals for their desired theological vocation through a comprehensive analysis of theology while addressing the various non-theological aspects of working in the ministry.

The master of divinity program begins with an emphasis on spiritual formation. Students enter an environment that not only promotes their personal spiritual growth, but allows them to facilitate the growth of their peers. Opportunities for spiritual development and nourishment include the official spiritual formation class for master of divinity students, small student-covenant groups that meet seven times per semester, and many special community life events that take place over the course of the school year.

More information involving spiritual formation, as well as many additional aspects of the master of divinity program, can be found online at www.leland.edu.
